Digital Citizenship and Online Protection Initiative Holds Online Safety Training for Teachers in Collaboration with UNICEF and Assiut Governorate

Project : Digital Citizenship and Online Protection Initiative

In collaboration with UNICEF and Assiut Governorate, the Digital Citizenship and Online Safety Initiative held a training program for teachers and social workers in Assiut Governorate on July 6 and 7. This training program is part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Assiut Governorate regarding digital community empowerment for individuals in the governorate.
The training utilized content provided by UNICEF on online safety. The training also included interactive activities specific to the initiative. The training program included awareness-raising on concepts related to digital citizenship and the nature and types of threats that can be encountered on social media, such as cyberbullying, solicitation, blackmail, and others. It also included ways to protect against these threats, and outlined various means of reporting and support. The training was delivered by Professor Mahmoud Salah, the initiative's general coordinator and training officer, and Professor Akmal Omar, training officer at the Digital Citizenship Initiative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
