Preparing young people for the labor market
ICT is considered one of the most powerful tools in the areas of qualifying young people for employment opportunities, enhancing the economic status of women- persons with disabilities- marginalized groups in particular, developing business and projects, creating new innovative job opportunities, and supporting already existing companies.
In this framework, the Central Department for Digital Community Development is working actively with partners in a number of projects and initiatives supporting employment opportunities, promoting entrepreneurship concepts, and building skills to help citizens of all groups benefit from these opportunities and create self-employment ones.
Since 2006, digital community development projects adopted a program that supports owners of micro, small, and medium enterprises using information and communications technology, in order to enhance the competitive capabilities of project owners by providing them skills of management, planning, and direct and electronic marketing.
Based on the need to build the capabilities of small and medium-sized companies by providing training on information technology and services, in order to enhance the impact of small and medium-sized companies on society, which is subsequently reflected in the development of the economy through increasing available job opportunities, The stages of implementing this program continued with different partners during the following years, expanding the scope of model application to reach the largest possible number of beneficiaries.
The activities of digital community development projects in the field of supporting small projects and young entrepreneurs are not only limited to training and building capacity, but also extend to link local industries with markets using the Internet, as is the case in the Qudwa.Tech initiative, Which aims to promote handmade products, traditional crafts, and small and micro-enterprises for women and girls in all governorates of Egypt.
We also seek to build the trainers capacity through providing training of trainers (TOT) programs on IT basics and skills, as well as higher levels of specialized programs that benefit entrepreneurs through (Develop and Change) project, implemented in partnership with Microsoft Egypt, to develop and build the digital capabilities of youth in the fields of information and communication technology.
On the other hand, the axis of supporting small projects and entrepreneurs also aims to build the capabilities of small and medium enterprises , as well as civil society organizations, to be more efficient and competitive in the labor market.
