In response to the interaction with current developments that require developing the environmental awareness of society in all its categories, and based on Egypt's digital strategy, and the role of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology towards developing the technological infrastructure to mitigate the effects of climate change and adapt to it; The Ministry has made great strides in enhancing digital transformation efforts towards sustainable green recovery, and supporting environmentally conscious societies, by highlighting the pivotal and effective role of digital platforms in raising awareness in societies, and their role in transferring information and instilling positive and proactive behavior in societies towards climate change.
In this regard, digital platforms play a prominent role in the efforts made to educate citizens about climate change issues as one of the innovative solutions to address these issues from the perspective of information and communications technology, due to their impact on improving the general behaviors of individuals and societies, by disseminating digital solutions to address climate change in local communities.
In light of this, the Central Administration for Digital Community Development launched, through its projects, the initiative (Digital Path for Sustainable Green Recovery), with the aim of harnessing information and communications technology to raise community awareness of climate change and environmental sustainability issues, and disseminate best practices for responsible use and reduce environmental degradation, especially in the most needy communities, in cooperation with a number of entities concerned with integration and integration in development paths related to the environment, especially since it is one of the basic tools for achieving comprehensive sustainable development.
The Central Administration for Digital Community Development has taken several steps in this field by developing the skills and capabilities of young people to work as ambassadors to spread the culture of green recovery, and contributing to creating a responsible, aware society in all its categories, capable of confronting environmental challenges and dealing with them properly and reducing their risks.
The Green Recovery Path is also interested in working to attract partnerships and funding between developing and developed countries to enhance the use of digital platforms in raising awareness of climate change, while providing the opportunity to enhance knowledge and exchange and transfer technological expertise to offer solutions to address climate change and water management issues, and disseminate best practices in this field.
In the same vein, the Qudwa-Tech initiative for women's empowerment is interested in spreading the culture of the green economy among female entrepreneurs, as it continues to hold orientation and advisory sessions on the nature of climate change, and its economic, social and environmental impacts on women, families and local communities, and the use of technological solutions in supporting the sustainable digital green economy and marketing.
The Central Administration for Digital Community Development also participated, through the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development Project in Egypt, in holding a session (Supporting Innovation: Raising Social Awareness about Climate Change with the Help of Digital Platforms - The Digital Path to Sustainable Green Recovery) within the activities of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) held in November 2022, which discussed the role of digital platforms in accelerating the pace of addressing the effects of climate change, and the importance of stimulating and activating the role of community participation for institutions concerned with environmental and climate issues.
