Digital Citizenship holds awareness seminar in partnership with UNICEF and the Banha Public Library on digital citizenship skills

The Digital Citizenship and Online Protection Initiative, in collaboration with UNICEF Egypt, held an awareness seminar at the Banha Public Library on June 24, 2025, entitled "Digital Citizenship and Online Protection Skills." The seminar targeted a number of sheikhs, preachers, and leaders from the Qalyubia Governorate Endowments Directorate, as part of efforts to raise digital awareness among all segments of society.
The seminar focused on several themes related to digital citizenship concepts and ways to protect against online risks. It also highlighted common digital threats, methods of prevention, how to promote responsible and safe behavior among individuals online, and the importance of dealing with and combating digital crimes.
The seminar comes within the framework of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's efforts to build and enhance individuals' digital capabilities and prepare them to deal with the requirements of digital transformation. It also falls within the activities of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Qalyubia Governorate regarding digital community development and digital empowerment of citizens in the governorate. The seminar was attended by Dr. Yasser Helmy Ghiyati, Director of the Endowments Directorate in Qalyubia Governorate, Dr. Naglaa El-Farmawy, Director of the Human Rights and Initiatives Office in Qalyubia Governorate, and Ms. Nahla Muslim, Director General of the Egyptian Public Library, Banha Branch. The seminar was also attended by Mr. Mahmoud Salah, General Coordinator and Training Officer of the initiative, and Mr. Akmal Omar, Training Officer of the Digital Citizenship Initiative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
