
Closing ceremony of the training activities of the Digital Citizenship and Online Protection Initiative in cooperation with the Egyptian Public Library in Benha

Eng. Hoda Dahroug, Advisor to the Minister for Digital Community Development and Director of the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development Project in Egypt, participated in the closing events of the training activities of the Digital Citizenship and Online Protection Initiative in cooperation with the Egyptian Public Library in Banha during the summer season of 2024.
During the celebration, the spotlight was placed on the cooperative efforts made by all partners to build digital awareness and empower adolescents and youth to be able to confront digital threats, spread a safe digital culture among members of society, and support the positive use of technological tools.
The Advisor to the Minister stressed that this initiative, launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology as one of the digital community development initiatives, aims to raise the awareness of community members of their rights and responsibilities in the digital world, especially with the increasing reliance on technology and digital systems in work, learning and training, and the associated increase in electronic risks, as the initiative works to develop the capabilities of individuals in building their own digital identity and managing it online, as well as enhancing digital protection procedures to manage risks associated with the digital environment, which contributes to making cyberspace a safer place for everyone.
The celebration witnessed the honoring of a distinguished group of knowledge ambassadors from youth and students, and models of trainers who have completed TOT trainer preparation courses, as well as a number of beneficiaries of the training program for interactive skills to protect children from the dangers of the Internet. Also, the directors of youth and sports centers in Qalyubia, and the leaders of the Egypt Public Library in Banha were honored as partners for success as they contributed to supporting the activities of the initiative through their effective efforts in spreading the culture of digital citizenship and protection on the Internet in Qalyubia Governorate, in partnership with the Egypt Public Library - Banha Branch. The celebration was attended by Dr. Asmaa Saber, Director of the Digital Mortgage and Online Protection Initiative at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Omaima Refaat, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Qalyubia, Dr. Naglaa El-Farmawy, Director of the Human Rights and Initiatives Office at the General Diwan of Qalyubia Governorate, Mr. Amer Hamdy, Director of the Youth Department at the Youth and Sports Directorate, Ms. Nahla Muslim, Director General of the Egyptian Public Library, Banha Branch, Dr. Nora Mamdouh Mohamed, Director of the Resala Association in Banha, in addition to a number of directors of youth and sports centers and leaders of cooperating and partnering entities.
