MCIT Signs MoU with Um Habiba and Aga Khan Egypt Foundation on Digital Community Development in Aswan

The Ministry of Communications and Informations Technology (MCIT-Egypt), through the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development in Egypt project, affiliated to the Central Administration for Digital Community Development in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP Egypt), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Om Habibeh Foundation and Aga Khan Egypt in Aswan Governorate, with the aim of digitally empowering individuals through the integration of technology Informations and communications in a number of societal, economic and environmental development sectors in Aswan, in light of MCIT strategy towards digital transformation and the implementation of Egypt's Vision 2030 for sustainable development and human building.
The MoU was signed by Eng. Hoda Dahroug, Advisor to the Minister for Digital Community Development, and Dr. Hanan Hassan El-Gendy, Director General of Um Habiba and Aga Khan Egypt Foundation in Aswan. Under the terms of this memorandum, five main axes of digital community development services will be worked on:
Working to spread the culture of e-learning by accrediting um Habiba Foundation as an e-learning center that provides training courses for the Cisco Academies program to the Foundation's pioneers through certified trainers affiliated with the Foundation, who have been trained and qualified to provide these courses. The second pillar of the agreement is the economic and social empowerment of Egyptian women in the field of digital marketing through the activities of the Qudwah - Tech initiative, to promote the digital empowerment for women and participate in the creation of new productive communities through qualified female cadres to train their peers in Aswan.
The third axis is to promote a culture of digital citizenship and cybersecurity through the implementation of a series of awareness seminars and training programs to protect citizens from the dangers of the Internet, and to be present in the digital world in a safe and positive manner.  In the fourth axis of the agreement, work will be done to provide technological training opportunities for youth on Microsoft programs through the activities of the "Develop and Change" project, to develop and build the capabilities of youth in line with the needs of the freelance market, focusing on three tracks: (digital literacy and computer principles, software development, sales skills and e-marketing).
As for the fifth and final axis, it includes raising community awareness of environmental issues and climate change and how to address them by changing behaviors that would harm the environment, by holding a series of awareness seminars and trainings for the Foundation's pioneers to raise awareness of how to best deal with preserving the environment, and reducing harmful emissions to the environment, by applying to the Aswan community. The signing of the MoU comes as an investment of the previous successes that have been implemented in Aswan Governorate, and to enhance cooperation between the two sides based on the common vision of all state institutions to support digital transformation efforts, and to advance the human element by working on implementing a number of development projects and activities using informations and communications technology in a manner that takes into account the nature and privacy of the Aswan community, especially with the Foundation's expertise and cadres in many development fields such as economy, education, health, entrepreneurship and others.
