
Participation in the closing ceremony of the training program of the Migration and Development Project in North Africa - NAMAD, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration

Regarding efforts to build the capacity of youth to prepare them for the labor market, Engineer Hoda Dahroug, Advisor to the Minister for Digital Community Development and Director of the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development Project in Egypt, represented the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in the closing ceremony of the training program for the North Africa Migration and Development Project (NAMAD) affiliated with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom. The program aimed to build the capacity of youth and support their integration into society by providing specialized training in the fields of communications and information technology. In her speech, the Minister's Advisor discussed the efforts made by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to provide job opportunities for youth in the labor market through training in the fields of communications and information technology. This is in line with the Egyptian government's priorities towards digital transformation, enhancing digital skills, and supporting digital innovation to achieve the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.
In this context, the Minister's Advisor emphasized that Egypt's Digital Strategy aims to build a digital society based on qualified youth cadres, starting with the launch of several national initiatives designed to enhance digital skills and innovation among youth. These initiatives include the Egypt Digital Generations initiative, with its various tracks, which has graduated more than 220,000 trainees in its various programs, forming a foundation for a generation of young specialists in modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analysis, cybersecurity, programming, digital arts, and more.
She also referred to the nine-month grant offered by the Information Technology Institute, which targets young university graduates, providing more than 30 different training tracks to bridge the gap between required skills and the labor market. The employment rate for graduates of these programs has reached more than 95%. She also highlighted the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's cooperation with partners in the NAMAD program, which resulted in the graduation of the program's first batch of 657 young trainees in the fields of digital marketing and artificial intelligence using digital distance learning technologies. The Ministry's role was represented by the technical aspect, as well as follow-up and technical supervision of the training process.
During the ceremony, graduates of the first batch of the program were honored for completing their training programs in generative artificial intelligence, digital marketing, and a training-of-trainers program in the field of generative artificial intelligence. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Carlos Oliver Cruz, Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in Egypt, Mr. Mahmoud Reda, Second Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and a number of representatives from governmental and civil society organizations.
