
Hoda Dahroug receives the African Community Development Award at the African ICT Alliance AfICTA 2024 ceremony

In recognition of her role in the field of development and digital empowerment of communities; Eng. Hoda Dahroug, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Digital Community Development, and Director of the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development Project in Egypt, received the African Community Development Award, during the 12th African ICT Awards ceremony of the African ICT Alliance (AfICTA) for the year 2024.
The award statement stated that the recipients of these awards are distinguished professionals with great experience and insightful leadership in their specialized fields, which contribute to the progress and development of the ICT scene on the African continent, and their contributions are distinguished by value and benefit in order to push the ICT sector forward, enhance innovation, support communication, and empower communities across Africa.
The 12th AfICTA Summit, themed “Digital Agenda 2030: Shaping Africa’s Future through Innovative Technology and Collaboration”, was held from 3 to 5 December 2024, and featured a series of sessions aimed at strengthening and supporting partnerships towards achieving Africa’s digital agenda and fulfilling the promise of the digital age for all on the African continent. AfICTA - Africa Information & Communication Technologies Alliance is a private sector-led alliance of ICT associations, multinational companies, organizations and individuals in the ICT sector in Africa, with a vision to fulfill the promise of the digital age for all in Africa. It is also concerned with encouraging multi-stakeholder dialogue and promoting accelerated and ICT-enabled development in Africa and the use of advanced innovative technologies including mobile, computing, telecommunications and satellite technologies to achieve the information society in Africa.
